Other Foreign Nationals Who Need an eTA to Travel to Canada

The following foreign nationals are required to obtain an eTA before boarding their flight to Canada:

✓ Lawful permanent residents of the United States admitted for permanent residence.
✓ Holders of a passport or travel document issued by the Holy See.
✓ Holders of a national Israeli passport.
✓ Holders of a passport issued by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
✓ Holders of a UK passport issued to a British National (Overseas) born/registered in HK.
✓ Holders of a UK passport issued to a British Subject with right of abode observation.
✓ Holders of an ordinary passport issued by Taiwan’s MOFA containing personal identification number (PIN).
⚠️ Note: Taiwanese citizens travelling with a passport issued by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs that does not contain their personal identification number require a visa to travel to Canada.
